Welcome to Lincoln P.A.C.'s (R.A.48) Blogspot. We are the 1st P.A.C. region to try this out and I hope that it is successful in letting everyone from our region and beyond know just what is going regarding meetings and more.
Each and every one of us has a real passion for pike and piking in all it's forms, some pikers chase our chosen quarry the length and breadth of the country, others are content in fishing locally on a few selected venues; whichever category you have chosen I would hope that you can find something of value from our region,be it from our Winter Speaker season or from our local members or the PAC nationally.
Piking is often all about solitude and the piker pitting his wits against our water's apex predator but even if your piking is conducted that way to meet with like minded individuals once a month can be fantastic way to broaden your outlook and pick up the odd trick here and there and that can only enhance everyone's piking and the enjoyment our sport brings.
Lincoln PAC meet from Sept.-April on the 1st Monday of the month at the Stag's Head in Newport Lincoln (see section 6.).We encourage everyone to arrive early, especially new faces, nice to chat before the speaker is on at 20:00. All welcome from 19:00.
PAC membership encouraged but not a prerequisite, we are here to talk pike and generally be social.
All abilities of piker are welcome, those just starting or thinking of piking especially welcome as we will point you in the right direction, help and assist you.
We welcome anyone with an interest in pike, even zandermen can come!

NEWS
NEXT SPEAKER
Colin Brett Feb. 1st

Colin comes to us with his highly acclaimed talk entitled "Look what I have just caught". Featuring some of the fantastic catches from both here and abroad. Be amazed at the mighty Sturgeon, wonder how salmon fit into such small tins and then sit back, relax and absorb that warmth we feel with pike and a few special zander. Girls get Valentine's day, we at the Mighty 48 get Colin "Father Jack" Brett.

St Barnabas Fish-in
This year we were rather plagued by last minute "domestic" situations that meant our numbers were drastically down on the day, we did however get a few out to do battle with our "friends at Notts PAC. Despite the lower than expected turn out I hope that we can still pull in a reasonably amount for the St.Barnabas Hospice, whether you fished or not please dig deep.Full report on the St Barnabas Events section (bottom l/h corner of the blog.)
STOP PRESS- after last nights meeting a rough tot up and with some money perhaps yet to come in we have raised over £900 so that is fantastic.

Retailer of the Month
I have decided to highlight one of the companies featured in our "Useful sites" section each month as they sometimes get overlooked, hopefully this will encourage you to check the others out too.
This month it is the turn of BILLY'S BLUE BACKBITERS pukka alarms for pukka pikers.

Check their site in the "Interesting sites product" section in the l/h margin

Recently two Lincoln PAC stalwarts have appeared in the "Under the skin" interviews in Pikelines- Graham Slater in PL 113 and Simon Blaydes in PL114. Both are very self effacing but very accomplished anglers, both showed a great passion for both pike and piking-jolly well done chaps!

LOCAL SHOPS
Many people seem to ask about shops and where to buy items of pike tackle. With the advent of the internet and "deals" all over the place we often forget what is on our doorstep. If nobody uses them they will be gone. Below is a small list of shops in the area. I stress that they are in no particular order and they have no "deal" with us, just don't want to lose them. If I have missed any out let me know.
